On March 13, 2018, the oral debate of the 5th INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION ON COMMERCIAL ARBITRATION, which is traditionally held by the European Arbitration Chamber among students of law faculties of Ukrainian universities, will start in Kiev.
The contest is a simulator of the court session. It is based on the model of commercial dispute consideration in international arbitration (according to the Rules of the International Commercial Arbitration Court under the EAC) and is held in English.
The current task for the participants is to prepare memoranda according to the promulgated case, as well as to act as a plaintiff and defendant in the "arbitration process". As part of the oral argument, the teams present their legal position before the court, demonstrate the level of oratorical skill and persuasiveness, the ability to answer questions, as well as the manner of behavior before the composition of arbitration.
Evaluate the performances of the teams will be lawyers, lawyers, professional judges who will also share their practical advice.

The main goal of the competition is to improve the level of knowledge and promote the development of practical skills in law students and commercial arbitration in law students. The participants learn how to correctly draw up legal documents, understand the legislation more deeply, and, most importantly, gain experience in public speaking.
In addition, participation in the competition gives students the opportunity not only to make new and useful acquaintances in a professional environment, but also in the future to get a job in the specialty, because the best students will be awarded special certificates for internship in the leading legal companies in Ukraine and Europe, the office of the European Arbitration Chamber in Brussels.
