Stockholm Arbitration rejected "Gazprom"s claims to Lithuania for damages and allowed the government of the Baltic republic to divide the assets gas company “Lietuvos dujos” for transportation, distribution and sale. As a result, the “Gazprom” has lost control of Lithuania's gas pipeline system.
“Lietuvos dujos” has a monopoly on gas supplies to consumers in Lithuania and its transit through the territory of the country. Last year, the Lithuanian government has demanded the division of assets of the three types of business: gas transmission, gas distribution and sale of gas. Such a reorganization are required from Lithuania by the standards of the Third Energy Package of EU
