The agenda of the meeting of the members of the International non-profit association "European Arbitration Chamber" which took place in Kiev on August 28th 2012, included topical issues relating to the activity of association in the near future.
Prior attention, in particular, was paid to a number of events, which will be held by the association or in which its members intend to participate.
Among them - the XII Yalta International Finance Forum, the international scientific-practical conference on the legal issues in the field of international commercial arbitration and mediation, as arbitrators and mediators in the resolution of domestic and international disputes and legal expertise. They will be held in Rome, Geneva, Prague, Strasbourg, New Delhi, Tashkent, Baku, Kyiv and Lviv.
The participants also discussed the organizational aspects of a training visit for students and lawyers to the European Court of Human Rights (Strasbourg), which will be held 26th - 30th of November 2012.
EACh's members also exchanged their views on the statistics of arbitration clauses in the international contract. They put forward concrete proposals to strengthen the position of the International Commercial Arbitration Court under the EACh.
Great attention was paid to preparations for the II National Competition on International Arbitration among students. The time frame of the contest was determined - it will run from December 2012 until March 2013.
The participants also discussed the time and place of the General Annual Meeting of the association's members.
It was decided the Meeting will be held in March 2013. Possible places for the meeting to take place include Ukraine, Russia, Poland and the United Arab Emirates.
The meeting also touched upon important issues such as membership in the association and optimization of membership fees. In particular, there were proposals to establish corporate membership and to introduce five-year term of accreditation of arbitrators of the International Commercial Arbitration Court under the EACh.
