THE EAC MOOT COURT 2013 BEGAN

Yesterday, December 11, II National Competition on International Arbitration (The EAC Moot Court 2013) began.
Despite the heavy snowfall, due to which many kilometers of traffic jams appeared on the Kyiv streets, at the appointed time in the hall of the Institute of International Relations, were brought together teams of Ukrainian universities, jury members, prominent lawyers, attorneys, international arbitrators, lecturers, guests of honor. The students of Ivan Franko national University of Lviv, V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Kyiv National Economic University, Institute of International Relations, Kyiv University of Law of NAS of Ukraine, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Institute of International Relations of National Aviation University, National University "Yaroslav the Wise Law Academy of Ukraine".
-    The competition is going to be serious - said in his opening speech the President of the European Arbitration Chamber Gennady Pampukha. - But I am sure that all of you will find excellent knowledge of the subject, prove that you all have serious professional aspirations, ability to navigate in any difficult situation, to find the only correct solution.
The presentation of the contest was attended by EAC's President Gennady Pampukha, head of the EAC's representative office in Ukraine Konstantin Pilkov, President of Ukrainian Bar Association Olga Dmitrieva, the representative of ICC Ukraine Taras Shepel, Head of international arbitration and dispute resolution of International law group "AstapovLawyers" Eugene Blinov.
After the presentation of the teams and greetings from honored guests, the drawing of the teams defined the following pairs of opponents:
1) Franko national University of Lviv - Institute of International Relations.
2) Kyiv University of Law of NAS of Ukraine - National University "Yaroslav the Wise Law Academy of Ukraine".
3 Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv - Institute of International Relations of the National Aviation University.
4) V.N. Karazin National University of Kharkiv - Kyiv National Economic University.
They will have to prepare memorandums, after assessing the contestants will go directly to the debate.
The names of the winners will be determined in March 2013. All participants of the competition will have an opportunity to have their internship in the leading law firms of Europe and the world.
